The Cipherhealth Team is very happy and proud to support Digital Girl.
Digital Girl, Inc. (DGI) is a non-profit organization founded in Brooklyn, New York. DGI is dedicated to empowering the underserved youth of Bed-Stuy, especially young girls, to pursue studies and careers in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) disciplines. To date,350 4th and 5th grade students have participated in this program. DGI also operates an afterschool coding program at 2 public schools in Brooklyn, NY. Both programs are to full capacity (50 students) with waiting lists. DGI produces Parent Technology Workshops, and Week-long Immersion into Stem Programs (WISP), which are very popular.
As a company providing world-class technology to organizations across the country, we are always looking for ways to encourage younger generations to explore their STEM interests. On Tuesday April 28th some CipherGirls had the opportunity to visit and see DigitalGirl in action. A classroom full of 4th and 5th grade students welcomed us and showcased the games they designed using an “Hour of Code” program. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for these kids and be part of their amazing tech journey!
