My mother was a pediatric nurse in Albania and now works for a small family practice. She loves her job and would never in a million years change careers! Having a mom who is a nurse has totally changed the way I view the healthcare industry. I was never afraid of needles when I was younger because my mom would give me all my shots, which made the entire process comforting. Doctors and hospitals were never a scary or intimidating place for me, and this has empowered me to take control of my care. Because of her I know I can expect full transparency, and that doctors and nurses are there to help me and keep me healthy!
